The Hour of Code is Here

Hello Woodland Families,

This week is Computer Science and Education Week. In honor of this week, our entire school is joining in on the largest learning event in history: The Hour of Code. Last year, 15 million students tried computer science in one week. This year, we're joining students worldwide to reach 100 million students!

During this week, ask your student(s) about their experience with The Hour of Code. Ask them if they would like to continue developing their ability to program. If so, you can create an account for them to continue practicing these skills at The Hour of Code’s website. All Woodland students will get the opportunity to learn computer programming at least once this week.

See http://hourofcode.com for more information. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Lostetter at david.lostetter@district196.org.

If you would like to take a look at some of the tutorials your student(s) are working with click here.

Thank you for supporting computers and technology education at Woodland!
