The December Dreambox Dare was a GREAT Success!

During the month of December our school completed a competition on DreamBox, the electronic math resource available to all students through generous funding provided by the PTO. Our original goal was for students to complete 100,000 minutes on the site during the month. However, at the end of the month the students smashed the goal and completed 197,000 minutes on DreamBox practicing and sharpening their math skills.

Each week the classroom and special education teachers selected one student who they wanted to recognize for their individual effort in math class and on the DreamBox site. These students received a personalized certificate of achievement from Kit Kat, the school mascot. In addition, the classroom in each grade level that completed the most lessons is being recognized in the next few weeks by selecting a special activity that they would like to try such as extra time the computer lab, gym, or star lab.

The following classrooms completed the most lessons in their grade level: Mrs. Lindeman's kindergartners, Mrs. Rahlf's first graders, Mrs. Muck & Mr. Borka's second graders, Ms. Rotty's third graders, Mrs. Hilton's fourth graders, and Mr. Brandsma & Ms. Rudolph's fifth graders.

DreamBox will continue to be available for your student and we are tentatively planning another competition for March. Thank you for your support of our budding mathematicians!
