Our Literacy Connection program will be completed for the year on May 19th. Literacy Connection is a program in which volunteers were trained to work one-to-one with a kindergarten, first, or second grade student to reinforce reading/writing strategies. The following volunteers came in once or twice a week for 30-60 minutes to work with students. The volunteers were Woodland parents, former WL parents, a friend of a WL teacher, a WL grandparent, a WL neighbor, former WL students, and a retired WL teacher. We have volunteers who have served for several years with this program! A huge thank you to the following volunteers who served as Literacy Connection volunteers this year:

  • Bob Birk
  • Dana Birk
  • Eric Hansen
  • Gaby Hanzel
  • Wendy Holmin
  • Erica Knipe
  • Theresa Read
  • Deb Shultz
  • Susie Sunderland
  • Jennifer Turner
  • Christine Uhl
  • Anna Wetschka
