A Note from the Woodland Fundraising Committee

Who are we?
The Fundraising Committee is a brand new group of parents that are committed to improving our children’s experience at Woodland. We are one of four PTO committees. Based on the Survey Monkey results from August, we are making every attempt to simplify fundraising this school year.

Where does the money go?
The Woodland PTO raises close to $40,000 annually to support many areas in the budget that need additional funding. Examples include field trip transportation, scholarships, grade level/specialist improvements, technology, library, and class-size reduction measures.

What is the fall fundraiser?
The fall fundraiser is our biggest fundraiser of the year. Whether you choose to sell the goodies available through CherryDale catalogs or make a direct donation, we appreciate your support. Direct Donation is an easy alternative as it requires no selling and 100% of Direct Donations will stay with Woodland! Please consider this alternative way to support Woodland when approaching friends and relatives. The Direct Donation form is attached and also available on the Woodland website.

What is changing this year?
The PTO, in conjunction with the school, has set a goal to approach you fewer times throughout the year. This fall already, we removed the $6 request for party money at assessment day in August. We are also looking at eliminating smaller fundraisers to concentrate on the ones that are most effective.

Unfortunately, Target has discontinued their Take Charge of Education program. Last year this program accounted for $6500 of our budget. To help make up for this deficit, we encourage you and your families to consider designating Woodland as your charity of choice through Smile.Amazon.Com. This is an easy process and you can contribute while making your normal purchases.

At this time, we have no plans to host any Give Back Nights at local restaurants. The profits from these events were not substantial and we recognize that our day to day lives are already filled with activities and commitments.

How can you help? No donation or purchase is too small! Every dollar gets us closer to our goal.

Thank you for your support!
