National Walk and Bike to School Day
The Physical Education Staff & the Health and Wellness Committee would like to extend a wonderful invitation to ALL students, parents/guardians and staff on Wednesday October 7th to participate in National Walk and Bike to School Day. We would like to take this time to stress the benefits of walking, biking, and exercising in general: exercise/play is FUN, combats health conditions and diseases, improves mood, boosts energy, better sleep, and controls weight. PLEASE consider walking/biking with friends, family members, or meeting up at a designated spot with others and ALL walking/biking together. If your child attends SACC, rides the bus, or has band rehearsal in the morning we do have alternative plans for those students. Hope to see you ALL participating Wednesday October 7th in National Walk and Bike to School Day!

Greetings from the Library-
We are counting down to BOOK FAIR time! Mark your calendar for Friday, November 13th from 9am-10pm. Please note the change in location from past years to the EAGAN BARNES AND NOBLE, due to the Apple Valley location closing last December.
This fundraiser is extremely important to our school and our annual sales have continued to grow. Last year we tallied approximately $18,000 in sales, which translates to approximately $5,000 in Barnes and Noble credit directly to the school for new and improved media throughout the school.
Please feel free to direct questions to Christine LaMott- who did such a wonderful job of organizing the annual B&N Book Fair last year. If you are interested in volunteering feel free to email Christine at email@example.com or Kelly Robertson in the RP Library at firstname.lastname@example.org. We will also need 5th grade volunteers and will put out volunteer request information to classrooms in the coming weeks.
On another note, we'd like to make parents aware that if your child is absent on their library day or forgets their book they do not need to wait until their next library day to return materials and check out something new. Students are welcome in the library before and after school and during the school day with teacher permission.
