Advanced Placement United States History

History doesn't repeat itself, but it rhymes. Mark Twain
Advanced Placement US History (APUSH) is a year-long elective class that a junior may take in lieu of the required 11th-grade social studies course: American Century. APUSH is a challenging course that is meant to be the equivalent of a freshman college course and may earn students college credit. It is a two-semester survey of United States history from the age of exploration and encounter to the present. Special emphasis will look at the areas of social, political, economic, cultural and diplomatic history. Solid reading and writing skills, along with a willingness to devote considerable time to homework and study, are necessary to succeed. The APUSH exam is Wednesday May 14, 2014
