I grew up in Statesville North Carolina and graduated from West Iredell High School in a year that I won't reveal. It seems like High School was not long ago for me, as I remember it vividly. I never imagined that I would be a high school teacher, but after teaching elementary drama for several years, I made the transition to be a high school drama teacher at Central Cabarrus. I loved teaching drama but when I made the move into Family and Consumer Science in 2008, I most definitely found a home at Hickory Ridge.
My goal is to remain an active and "stitchy" part of the HRHS family! I want my class to be a place of learning, fun and relaxation. Sewing is a skill that can last a lifetime and it can start right here. I cannot remember a day of my life without at least seeing a sewing machine. I learned to sew as a child and learned many life lessons over needles and threads. Sewing has been a great journey that has helped me to travel and work at exciting places like Utah Shakespeare Festival and the Santa Fe Opera. Maybe my needle and thread will carry me to more exciting places!
Hopefully, my students will be life long stitchers and crafters too! Now, let's do some stitchin'!
