The sun is 92.96 million miles from Earth. The reason we can feel the heat of the sun because it is around 9932oF on the surface.

Pluto was found in the 1930s, on the very edge of our known solar system. In 2006, the International Astronomical Union (IAU) demoted Pluto from a regular planet to a dwarf planet because of several factors.
