Meet Miss Backer

Miss Cathy Backer has been teaching at Apostles since 2016 after graduating with a degree in Elementary Education from Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN. She was born and raised in the suburbs of Minneapolis-St.Paul, MN. She is the youngest of her siblings, with a brother (David) who lives in Minneapolis with his wife (Rachel), and a sister (Libby) who lives in Richmond, VA with her husband (Tim). Her father (Warren) has worked at Target Corporate Headquarters for 26 years, and her mother (Barbara) is retired.

When Miss Backer is not at school, she loves reading, swimming, and lounging at the beach if the weather is nice. She also loves spending time with the class guinea pigs, Buttons and Zipper. During school vacations, she enjoys camping trips with friends and watching crime dramas and chick flicks on Netflix all day.
