17.12.14- nieuwe wet in NY ivm langdurige behandeling lyme

"Under the bill approved Wednesday, doctors who prescribe antibiotics to treat the tick-borne illness would be protected from investigation by the State Office of Professional Medical Conduct." (bron: http://wamc.org/post/gov-cuomo-signs-lyme-bill-protecting-doctors )

"No physician should be investigated or charged by state licensing officials, the bill states, 'based solely upon the recommendation or provision of a treatment ... that is not universally accepted' by medicine. The legislation applies "but is not limited to" Lyme disease care." (Source: Poughkeepsie Journal, 12/2/14)

New York has a new law protecting doctors treating Lyme disease. Governor Cuomo has signed the Patients' Rights/Doctor Protection bill. Congratulations to everyone who worked so hard to make this happen!"
