Weekly Update: September 11th to 15th
· NO SCHOOL Thursday and Friday (Happy Birthday Honduras)
· No IXL skills for this week
· PLEASE READ!!! Read everyday!
Math- Numbers to 1,000 (Chapter 2) we begin this week!
~Daily Timed Tests: students must be fluent in basic math facts!
~ PLEASE spend time practicing basic addition facts!

Short week… NO IXL.
Social Studies: This short week we will create artifacts for the department of Lempira. Students will learn about the many wonderful churches, natural resources, and tourist attractions in Lempira!
Language Arts:
Reading- We will work on a final project concerning Character Traits and Beginning/Middle/End. Students will create a book review to share with the class.
Tip: The goal by the end of the school year is for your child to be comfortably reading at level L or M.
Please make reading with your children at home a priority this year!! It will make a world of difference in the years to come.
Writing- Narrative Writing: Students have learned about Prewrite (brainstorm and planning), Draft, Revise, Edit. This week we will Publish our first personal narrative! The new will review all the steps and begin to write a second personal narrative!
Grammar- We will study to VERBS and ADJECTIVES!
Spelling/Phonics- REVIEW Test Wednesday! The test will have words from ALL THE LISTS we have studied so far! Students may study all the old lists found in their Assignment Book.
Please take a few minutes to study nightly.
