Weekly Update: October 9th to 13th o Classes resume Monday, October 9th
o End of the quarter Spelling Bee…study ALL spelling lists from Q1.
o Study your personal Spelling list
o Q1 ends Friday, October 13th
Math- 2.8 Decompose Numbers (Chapter 2)!

~Daily Timed Tests: students must be fluent in basic math facts!
~ PLEASE spend time practicing basic addition facts!

Science: Please send in small twigs, leaves, rocks, Legos, toys…anything that could prevent erosion! We will do an experiment to prevent erosion!!
We are still working to Dig Deep into Earth Science: this week we will focus on weathering and erosion
Tectonic Plates, Earthquakes, Volcanoes, Erosion, Weathering, Layers of the Earth
Language Arts:
Reading- We will REVIEW Character Traits, Beginning/Middle/End, Questions While Reading, & Problem and Solution. Tip: The goal by the end of the school year is for your child to be comfortably reading at level L or M.
Please make reading with your children at home a priority this year!! It will make a world of difference in the years to come.
Writing- Narrative Writing: We will finish our 2nd Personal Narrative.
Grammar- We will review all NOUNS
Spelling/Phonics- This there are no new words this week. Students will have individualized spelling lists based on words they missed throughout the quarter.
