Weekly Update: October 16th to 20th

· Q1 ended Friday, October 13th

· Late Start: Wednesday, October 18

· Parent Teacher Conferences, October 27th (a signup sheet will be posted outside out class)

· Halloween costumes NO guns, NO weapons

Math- Chapter 2 Numbers to 1,000 TEST Tuesday! A review sheet will b e sent home the night before.

~Daily Timed Tests: students must be fluent in basic math facts!

~ PLEASE spend time practicing basic addition facts!

Science: We finish our study of Earth Science this week.

Language Arts:

Reading- We will begin Cause and Effect.

Tip: The goal by the end of the school year is for your child to be comfortably reading at level L or M.

Please make reading with your children at home a priority this year!! It will make a world of difference in the years to come.

Writing- Writing About Reading (opinion writing), students will learn to write an opinion piece about a book they have read.

Grammar- We will study PRONOUNS and REFLEXIVE PRONOUNS

Spelling/Phonics- This week the words have a long e vowel sound. Please study 5 minutes daily!
