Weekly Update: May 14 to 18

Wax Museum: May 22, 23, and 25 (see flyer below for details)

Field Day: Thursday, May 24

Wednesday, May 16: early dismissal

*Change of Date: Saturday, May 26: Elementary Carnival for students invited, invitations will go home this week

Thursday, May 31: Last Day of School, dismissal 11:00 AM, Free colors day

Math: Chapter 11 : Fractions! Unit. Unit test will be Friday, May 18 (we moved the test due to all the activities this past week)

IXL: Will be assigned only if IXL is not completed in class this week or if the extra practice is neccessary. For review at home they may work on letter T, U, and W.

Reading: Folktales and Fables Unit.

Students are writing their own fables!

Please practice at home all of the skills when reading together.

Make sure your child is reading on a daily basis even if it is not required to send evidence of daily reading to school.

Writing: Poetry Unit! And review of the steps of the Writing Process

Grammar: Continue reviewing all skills this week. If you would like your child to have extra practice at home I suggest they work on letters O, P, Q, R, S, T, U.

Spelling: prefix and suffix TEST, Friday May 18... this is the last week of new words. Then we have the 4th quarter spelling bee!

Science: Students are working on a speech about their animal and will need a costume of some sort. Be creative. It is not necessary to purchase a costume. Some of the best costumes have been made at home!
