March 19 to 23
Next week is
there is no school Monday, March 26th to Monday, April 2nd. School resumes Tuesday, April 3rd.
Monday, March 19: Sign up sheet for Parent/Teacher conference will be posted.
Friday, March 19: 11am dismissal, and Parent/Teacher Conferences from 12pm to 3pm
Math: Chapter 6: subtracting through zeroes and word problems.
IXL: Will be assigned only if IXL is not completed in class this week or if the extra practice is neccessary. (For review at home they may work on letters H,I,J)
Reading: Non-fiction Reading: We are comparing more than one book on the same topic!
Please practice all of the skills when reading together at home! Reading with your child even 5 minutes a day makes all the difference!
Record your voice at least 2 times a week!!
Writing:
We will finish our unit of writing about non fiction text.
Grammar: Contractions
Spelling: "ar" and "or" spelling patterns
Social Studies: We will begin by working with an engineering STEM Challenge. Students will be creating a Basketball Shooter.
For this activity we need some materials. If you have at home please send the following:
1 small plastic condiment container, bottle cap, or the bottom half of a Dixie Cup
1 ping pong ball
Everything else we have in the class.
