Weekly Update: March 12 to 16

Monday, March 12: Late Start 12:30 P.M.

Wednesday, March 14: End of 3rd quarter

AASSCA -MS- Sportmanship Festival

Friday, March 16: Field Trip to Chiminike! We will be sending permission slips home with more information! :)

Saturday, March 17: St. Patrick's Day - Remember to wear something green!

Math: Chapter 6: subtracting through zeroes and word problems.

IXL: Will be assigned only if IXL is not completed in class this week or if the extra practice is neccessary. (For review at home they may work on letters H,I,J)

Reading: Every day we will be working on an article a day to practice fluency and reading comprehension. I will begin having a Chapter book read aloud.

Raz - Kids: Make sure you are recording your voice at least one time each week!

Make sure your child is reading on a daily basis even if it is not required to send evidence of daily reading to school.

Writing: We will finish our writing like a scientist unit!

Grammar: Contractions

Spelling: This week's words are "kn and wr digraphs".

Social Studies: We will begin by working with an engineering STEM Challenge. Students will be creating a Basketball Shooter.

For this activity we need some materials. If you have at home please send the following:

1 small plastic condiment container, bottle cap, or the bottom half of a Dixie Cup

1 ping pong ball

Everything else we have in the classroom.
