Weekly Update: January 8 to 12
Friday, January 12: Report Cards go home. Please sign and send them back on Monday, January 15.
Math: We will complete chapter 4 lessons 4.10 - 4.12 this week. Please practice at home: WORD problems should always have (number sentence, correct answer, and label). Chapter TEST will be Thursday, review work will be sent home the night before.

Reading: Author of the month: Patricia Polacco. Using her books, we will continue all other skills learned in the first two quarters, as well as sequencing, comparing books of the same author, and summarizing. Also, students are learning to improve their READING STAMINA by reading chapter books in class!!
Please practice at home all of the skills when reading together.
Raz - Kids: Each student should RECORD their voice two times this week!
Make sure your child is reading on a daily basis even if it is not required to send evidence of daily reading to school.
Writing: We will begin working on biographies, autobiographies, and research paper. Students have chosen the person they will research. We will do the research in class. Many of these people can be found here:
Grammar: adjectives and adverbs.
Spelling: Study for Spelling BEE - written test on Wednesday and Spelling Bee Finals on Friday.
Science: Continents, Oceans, Hemispheres, Compass Rose, Prime Meridian, and Equator. MAP SKILLS UNIT!
