Arranging Pages in the Navigation Bar

As I said in an earlier page, Google has a default that automatically puts pages you create into a navigation panel at the left.

Unfortunately, it puts the pages in alphabetical order, and you may wish to have them line up in a different order.

To fix this, do the following:

  1. Click on "More Actions", and pull down to "Manage Site".
  2. When that window opens, click on "Site Layout", and then look in the table and click on the word "edit" in the navigation cell.
  3. The "configure navigation" page will appear. Uncheck "automatically organization my navigation.
  4. Next, click on "add page" at the bottom of the window.

    Update on ordering nav panel

Hint: If you leave "automatically organize my navigation" checked, it will create all the pages, so you don't have to go through the "add page" step. Then you can still go in later, uncheck the auto option, and reorganize your pages in the navigation bar in the order you wish.

The "select page to add" window will appear.
  5. Now you will have to manually add the pages to the navigation bar in the order you desire.
  6. There are up and down arrows to help you arrange the order of thepages.
  7. A list will appear of all the pages you have created in your site.
  8. Select the page you want to appear first in the navigation panel, and then click o.k.
  9. This will put you back into the "configure navigation" window, and you'll see your page added,
  10. Click on "add page" at the bottom of that window, and then select the next page you want to appear in the navigation panel.
  11. Do this until all pages have been added.'
  12. If you make a mistake and add them in the wrong order, you can use the up and down arrows in the "configure navigation" page to reorder,.

After you have added all pages to your navigation panel, click o.k.
Make sure to "save changes" at the top left of the "site layout" page.
Then click on "return to site".
Your navigation panel should be ordered as you desired.
