AHS Open House using Movenote

For the Open House at the High School this Fall we will be posting videos online of each teacher so that those that do not make it to the open house can still get the information from the teachers.  There are many different ways we can make these videos but using Movenote may be the easiest for most.  Movenote easily allows you to combine an image or pdf with audio/video of you as you talk.  The videos can be shared using a link or by inserting them into a site.

Place the information you want to share onto a Google Doc and then download that as a PDF so you can use that in your Movenote.  You can even use a syllabus or information sheet that you would already be using at the Open House.  You do not have any editing tools when you make the video but if you keep the video around 2 minutes, you can easily create a new one if you make a mistake.

There are other options if you want to do a screencast where you capture the video of your screen as you go over a website or other resource.  You can find resources on how to make other videos at https://sites.google.com/a/ames.k12.ia.us/ahs-technology-integration/home/blog-posts/creatingvideosforclasses .

Watch the video below to see how to get started creating a video using Movenote.
