Student Choreography 2019

Student Choreography List

Choreographers, as well as which dancers are in which piece, were all chosen by many different factors (dependability, preparedness, ideas, interpersonal skills, opportunity needed, votes from classmates, stars on sheets, variety, leadership, etc. etc. etc.). We want a good mix of “fun” and “challenge!”

Schedule coming soon! Be prepared to start setting

This schedule is subject to change, but will give you an idea of the time frame to learn your three dances in class. You will still have your 2 required outside class rehearsals for each of your dances -these can be done during 3rd and/or 4th term but get them scheduled now! We will also be scheduling our Saturday Cluster Day that will include all three clusters rehearsing, lunch, homework time, and some snacks (not necessarily in that order).

Choreographers:

You need to have your dance already choreographed by the time we start setting the pieces –refer to the schedule. You need to be using your time setting your piece. You are required to do 2 outside class rehearsals. YOU WILL NOT DO EARLY MORNING REHEARSALS THE WEEK OF THE CONCERT as this is the time when you need your rest the most. Come talk to me early for scheduling the room.

Choreographers, please be patient with your dancers. Everyone deals with stress differently. Part of being a good leader/choreographer is not being afraid to keep your dancers on task, as well as the ability to sense when they get frustrated or are “not getting it” and working with them. Ultimately, YOU ARE IN CHARGE –DO WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE!

Other things to note:

o If you need your song edited, come set up a time to do it with me.

o Let me know if any dancers are giving you problems.

o I need a digital (drive/email/CD) copy of the final version of your song by: __Feb. 26 __

o You will need to go through our costume catalogue to see what costumes we have available. Costumes need to be picked out by: __Mar. 13 __ -We will try on costumes during one of your rehearsals or during a set time a couple weeks before your dance is performed.

o You need to let me know your title by: __Mar. 19 __

o Goal: have dance completely set by __ Mar. 19 __ and then use the last week for cleaning!

I am putting a lot of faith and trust in you and your dance concept; please use your time wisely and represent what Momentum Team has to offer!

Good luck!
