Sterling Scholars

The Sterling Scholar program is designed to recognize and encourage the pursuit of excellence in scholarship, leadership, and citizenship of high school seniors in Utah.

Deseret News and KSL have partnered to create and run this program. Many of the colleges and universities across the state offer scholarships to Sterling Scholar participants and Region Winners and Runners-up receive scholarship money that can be used at any University.

Overview of the Program
  1. School Applications are available in the Library and are due on October 26, 2016 at 3 pm.
  2. Individuals in each category are interviewed by their respective departments and School Winners are chosen.
  3. School Sterling Scholars create portfolios that are submitted to the program. Category judges select Semi-Finalists for interviews.
  4. Finalists are chosen from the Semi-Finalist interviews and go through a second round of interviews.
