Enroll in Canvas

You must use your @alpinesd.org email address for Canvas in this course. 
You will have the option to create  a new account, or to log in if you already have an existing account.
If you create a new account, you will have to check your email and verify it by clicking the link in the Canvas email they send you.

After you have enrolledHERE is the link to log in to Canvas.

Canvas is not currently being used in AP Physics.

Setting up a Canvas Account for

Mr. Erekson's classes at LPHS:

  1. Go to the enrollment link above.

  2. It will say "You are enrolling in Mr. E's class" and it will request an email address.  You MUST use your Alpine District email address. (That email address is probably something like erekstho000@alpinesd.org.  It is your Skyward login with @alpinesd.org on the end.)

  3. Now there are two options.  You can either make a new account, or login to an existing account.

    1. If you've never used Canvas before, choose "I am a new user."

      1. If you get an “email already in use” error, you apparently have used Canvas before, even though you didn’t know it.

      2. Generally this is because you had a junior high computer class in which the teacher had Canvas accounts created for everyone.

      3. Now you have to try to remember a password that you didn’t even know you had!  Try the default password for district accounts-- your birthdate (MMDDYYYY).  If that doesn’t work, the main login page has a “Forgot Password?” link.

    2. If you HAVE used Canvas, and you used your Alpine District email for your account, choose "I already have a Free for Teachers login."  (You'll need to remember what password you used before.)

    3. If you used Canvas before, but you used a NON-Alpine-District email, choose "I am a new user" and make a new account using your district email address.

  4. Now that you have either logged in or created an account, it will say, "You have successfully enrolled in Mr. Erekson's class."  (If it doesn't, just click on the enroll link again-- for some reason, a few people have had to go to that page twice.)

  5. You're not actually done yet!  To complete your registration you need to log in to your district email account-- Canvas sent an email to it for you to confirm your registration-- open the email and click the link.  

    1. If you have never changed the password on your district email account, it is your birth date, in the format "MMDDYYYY" (two-digit month, two-digit date, four-digit year).

    2. If your district email account is denying you access, it probably means that your parent/guardian still needs to approve the new district AUP for you (this is done via the Skyward-parent-login).

  6. Now that you have an account, it will take 12-24 hours for your account to be sorted into the correct section.
