9/21 (B day)

Notebook #8 - The current poverty rate in America is 12.7 percent, or 43 million Americans, based on 2016 census information.  For a family of 4, if you make $24,600 annually, you are said to live in poverty. What kind of life does that afford here today?  How does poverty in America relate to poverty in other countries? Can you live a happy life in poverty?

Today students took a quiz on chapters 1-3 for Of Mice and Men. We also discussed major points from chapter 3. Free form journal #2 was due. Students also completed an activity on the working poor and had to make financial decisions for a family with very little money. Students will need to pick up the worksheet and complete on their own.
