College Donor Challenge is BACK!!! The 2nd annual CDC is actively fundraising to get 1st-generation, college bound, high school students on a college tour. The students that will attend the tour will be the first person in their family to attend college. For many students that are in high school they have never had the opportunity to see what a 4-year college campus is like. Here is an opportunity for them to see what the college life is like.
Last year, 10 students were able to tour The University of Michigan. They had a presentation by the Center for Educational Outreach that gave the students great information on what it is like to transition from high school to college. This presentation was done during lunch at one of its many fine dining facilities. Students received information about admissions, extra-curricular activities and much more. The tour was completed with a walking tour of the campus.
Donating is EASY. For every dollar that is donated, one point will be counted towards a college or university that the donor chooses. For example, $50.00 is 50 points and counted towards Central Michigan University The college that has the most points by May 3, 2013 @ 5 pm is the campus that the students will tour. This year MMCCC is hoping to do the same but with more students! This means more money and more participation from the community. This is your time to show your school spirit and help students that would not normally have a chance to visit a campus. Wouldn't you want this student to attend the same school that you graduated from?
Thank you for participating and let the best school win!
