Dear ASES families,

Important, exciting news is coming your way on January 29!!!!
ALL SAINT’S EPISCOPAL SCHOOL WILL BE HOSTING A PARENT NIGHT AT 5:30 ON THURSDAY, JANUARY 29, 2015.  The new tuition schedule will be unveiled.  We are thrilled to be able to share this with you.  Childcare will be available for all ages in three different areas -Preschool, Elementary, Middle – for the time that we will be meeting.  Because we are beginning at 5:30, food will be part of the childcare time.  Our teachers will be watching and caring for the students.
Be sure to put this date on your calendar.  You do not want to miss this great announcement.
We at ASES are looking forward to seeing you at this meeting.

                                               Sincerely,

                                               Marcia Carlyle
  News from the Middle School:

The 5th grade will be giving their 4-H speeches this Friday, 1/16/15. Parents, please encourage your student(s) to practice their speeches at home. We will not have any extra time to practice in school this week.
Also, the 4th, 5th, and 6th grades will be going to Biz Town in Clinton, TN on Friday, 02/13/15. This is a wonderful opportunity for them to learn about economics, business, and financial matters.
The 6th grade Social Studies class is wrapping up our Egyptian projects. Each student created an Egyptian pyramid in class. In art class, they designed a "jeweled collar" like those that the pharaohs wore. Lastly, in art, they will also construct a sarcophagus. These projects will be on display in the back hall, later this week.

HOW EXCITING!!

All Saints’ Episcopal Church members build raised beds for garden project
From Contributed Reports
On a hot Monday morning, members of All Saints’ Episcopal Church joined teachers and parents of All Saints’ Episcopal School in God’s Bounty Garden and Outdoor Classroom. The project was building raised planting beds for classroom use during the upcoming 2014-15 school year.   Scheduled to work over the course of three days, organizers and volunteers alike surprised themselves by completing all 10 4-foot by 12-foot beds in the first day.   “The focus and hard work of the volunteers really blew us away” said Patsy Gosnell, secong grade teacher and God’s Bounty organizer.   The crew also planted pumpkins in hopes of a harvest this autumn.   Earlier this summer, first grade teacher Susie Justice led another team of school and church volunteers in the harvesting and canning of more than 70 quarts of half-runner green beans. The beans were then sold and all profit turned back into God’s Bounty. Out of the limelight, but indispensible to the agriculture program is sixth grade teacher Jim Hodge. The experience that he and his wife, Kathy, have brought to bear on God’s Bounty has proven invaluable.   All Saints’ Episcopal School received grant money from the Tennessee Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom for use toward this raised bed project. Additional support was given by Alan’s Nursery in Morristown, who offered a discount on enriched soil to fill the raised beds.

The Whaley family will receive $100 off of their 5-Day ELC program tuition, while the Watts family will receive $75 off of their 3-Day ELC program tuition.
