1938 "Carnival Week"

In 1938, one year after the official formation of the Corps,  July 25-30th was designated as "Carnival Week" at Recreation Park.

Activities throughout the week provided fun for community members of all ages with carnival rides, prizes, food and more.

The Corps used this as a means to raise money for the Ambulance Campaign Drive to be used to purchase a much needed new ambulance.

The Corps had been using a used 1926 Reo ambulance since their inception, but needed a better equipped and more "modern" vehicle with all the necessary first aid equipment.

By all accounts the Carnival Week celebrations were successful in bringing the community together and raising the awareness of the important work the newly formed Allendale Ambulance Corps was doing.
