Our Services

Our members are pleased to provide the following services to our Allendale residents:

Equipment Loan
We loan out wheelchairs, crutches, walkers, canes and child sized crutches to Allendale residents who have a temporary need.

We rely upon the generosity of our community members to donate the above items to us when they are no longer needed, so we can provide them to others who may have a need. If you have equipment that you no longer need, but is in good & usable condition, please consider donating it to Allendale Ambulance Corps.

To borrow or donate equipment please contact us at equipment@allendaleambulance.org

*We do not supply or accept commodes or shower chairs due to sanitary issues*

Non-Emergency Transports                                                                                                                                                     Although our priority is responding to pre-hospital emergency requests for medical care and transport, we also provide non-emergency transports to Allendale residents in certain circumstances.

If you or a family member resident of Allendale is in need of transport from hospital to nursing home, nursing home to home, rehab to home, etc. we are available to help.  Please keep in mind that non-emergency transports may not always be available due to the availability of our volunteer members.  Also note that these transports would most likely be done after 7pm.

We do not do transports to doctors appointments, dialysis or other regularly scheduled medical appointments.  There are many private companies that can provide those services.

To arrange non-emergency transport please contact us at 201.327.3274

Education                                                                                                                                                                                               One of the most important elements of emergency medical services is education; providing residents with the tools necessary to assist themselves and their family members in the event of a medical emergency.

  • Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) Instruction:                            We can teach you, your family, your group or organization members CPR at your location or here at our AVAC building meeting room.   Our classes include certification courses (often times needed for employment purposes) or simply a Friends & Family CPR course (great for new parents, grandparents, babysitters, etc.)
  • First Aid Instruction:                                                                                                                                                                        If you feel unprepared for a medical emergency at home or work, let us help you. We can teach basic first aid skills to you, your family, group or organization members.  We can teach here at AVAC or at your location.

For either of these educational services please email us at captain@allendaleambulance.org

Community Outreach                                                                                                                                                       We are happy to come to your organization or to welcome your group or organization into our AVAC building for an educational program focusing on emergency medicine & response.

We love to welcome Girl Scouts, Cub & Boy Scouts, school groups including nursery school children to enjoy a tour of our ambulances, hands-on opportunities with our equipment.

We can customize your visit by tailoring it to your Scout or Girl Scout badge requirements.
