Welcome to the Pickens County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Project website! This website is administered by All Clear Emergency Management Group and is designed to assist Pickens County jurisdictions and residents through the creation of the Pickens County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan. All Clear Emergency Management Group has been contracted to create this plan through the Pickens County Emergency Management Agency.
As the costs of recovering from disasters has increased, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has placed increased emphasis on mitigation activities designed to reduce or eliminate the negative impacts of these events. As a condition of eligibility for federal mitigation grant funding, FEMA requires local communities to produce or update a hazard mitigation plan every five years. The goal of the Pickens County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Project is to produce a qualifying plan that will work to make the municipalities of Pickens County and their agencies, residents, and businesses less vulnerable to man-made and natural hazards.
If you have any questions about this project or would like to share your thoughts about hazard mitigation in your community, please contact Denise Kwiatek, Emergency Management Director for Pickens County at email@example.com or JoAnne Huie, Planning Specialist at All Clear Emergency Management Group at firstname.lastname@example.org.
