About Mrs. Martinez

Hello!  My name is Michelle Martinez and I will be your child’s middle school Science teacher.  I will also be teaching 6th grade Bible and some electives.  I have worked at ALCS for 14 years.  I began as a substitute aide and have been a teacher for 8 years.  I have a degree in sociology and am almost done working on my credential through APU.  I hold a Standard ACSI Teaching Certificate.  I have taught Pre-K, 3rd, and 6th grade.  I am so excited to begin a new year with your child.

I have been married for nine years to my high school sweetheart.  We have two sons – Bobby who is six years old and Mikey who will be five on October 2nd.  Our family is also excited to add a little girl, Breanna Aaliyah,  around the middle of September.  I enjoy spending time with my family as well as hanging out with my girlfriends, camping, scrapbooking, and just generally doing anything fun.

God has given me the natural ability to teach.  I have had other jobs, but none are as rewarding and meaningful to me as teaching.  I personally experienced challenges during my own education and I feel that those tough times taught me how to work with my students. It is a blessing and a gift to be able to identify the roadblocks the students face and to have the ability to talk them through the rough spots.  It is also a blessing to watch them succeed.

Please know that I will try to make myself available to you as much as possible.  I will let you know my schedule at the beginning of the school year.  I will also inform you of any changes as the year continues.  If you really need to talk to me please feel free to e-mail me at Martinez@alchristian.com or call the office and leave a message on my voicemail (ext. 2115).  You can also send a note with your child to school.  If you would like to meet with me, we can arrange a time to meet at your earliest convenience.

I am aiming for this to be a fun-filled year.  I want the children to learn not only through the text, but through experimentation and hands-on activities.  I also want the children to grow spiritually in the Lord.  Together I believe we can make this happen.
