Albia Soccer Club

Albia Soccer Club is an all volunteer organization dedicated to offering a first-class soccer program to the youth of Monroe County.  Albia Soccer Club offers both recreational and traveling league teams.  The recreational teams play other teams from Albia and focus on the fundamentals of soccer.  The traveling league teams play teams from other towns.  The traveling league teams is more competitively based and is offered to age groups from under 10 through 18 years of age.  Both recreational and traveling leagues play the fall season.  The recreational teams will begin practice in mid-August and run through the end of September.  The traveling league teams begin practice in mid-August and competition runs through the end of October.  All games for this group are scheduled on Saturday throughout September and October, ending with a league tournament. 

The following is a list of age brackets we serve in the City/Recreational League:
  • U8 (Kindergarten - 1st grade)
  • U10 (2nd - 4th grade)
  • U12 (5th - 6th)*
    *Depending on registration numbers

The following is a list of age brackets we serve in the Traveling League:
  • U8 Under 8 years of age
  • U10 Under 10 years of age
  • U12 Under 12 years of age
  • U14 Under 14 years of age
  • U16 Under 16 years of age*
  • U18 Under 18 years of age*
    *Teams may be combined depending on age/number of participants

EQUIPMENT:
All players are required to wear shinguards.  Recreational teams are supplied with team t-shirts as part of the registration fee.  All traveling league participants will be required to purchase a team uniform jersey (a one time fee until replaced) as part of the registration fee.  Soccer shoes are recommended but not required.

Since the Spring of 2001, Albia High School has competed as a competition soccer program with other high schools in the area.  For more information and the Albia High School spring soccer schedule

Albia was a High School Class 1A State Soccer Participant in 2010 - first time in school history.
