Project Description:

Building a wind-powered energy generation device for people who use small devices for extended periods of time in remote field locations, such as researchers and explorers. Our overall model will be a lightweight, compact, efficient, and robust design to withstand harsh conditions, such as arctic winters. We will provide our clients with different models for them to choose from, depending on their power needs. Battery charging devices will also be provided for resale.

Team Strategy:

We began our design from the marketing end; identifying our customers and their needs. After identifying what the market already offering in the general area, we began designed an improved device with broader functionality. We are utilizing state-of-the-art fluid dynamic and mechanical design software to optimize for the design goals before building anything. Rapid 3D prototyping is being used to test our ideas quickly.

  • Easy swappable blades.

  • Manual and automatic blade speed control for over-speed protection.

  • Can be quickly and easily compacted down and set back up for ease of travel.
