PASS (Peer Assisted Study Sessions) is a program that embeds an experienced math tutor into your 107 course. This tutor, your PASS leader, sits in class with you so he/she knows exactly what you need to know and how it’s been taught; and then offers you a chance to get personalized help, 6 or 8 times a week! You’ll never find that in the Math Lab.
A PASS session is a low key environment where you can get help on troublesome problems, simply work through your homework with help on hand, rework old exams and quizzes, or prepare for the next ones. Your PASS leader will hold 6 or 8, 1-hour PASS sessions a week. The times and days will be selected to fit your class’ most available/desired times and will include at least one morning time, one evening time, and one weekend day. You are welcome to attend PASS sessions of other 107 classes, as well; there will be PASS sessions every day, throughout the day, altogether 22 sessions a week.
**UAF’s Student Support Services data shows that just one hour of extra help a week, throughout a semester, can push a student from a fail to a pass. Treat yourself well and schedule one PASS session a week into your life. You will not regret it. **
PASS Sessions are now posted online!
