Applicants may apply as licensure only and complete all course work at the undergraduate (400) level.  Additionally, applicants may apply as licensure toward M.Ed. in Secondary Education.  These candidates are dual enrolled in a graduate licensure program and M.Ed. in Secondary Education degree.  Students enrolled in this option complete some course work at the graduate (600) level and the remainder at the undergraduate (400) level.  At the conclusion of the graduate licensure program, students have completed 15 credits towards a master’s degree in secondary education.  Master's degree course work must be completed within seven years of admittance.  At the successful conclusion of the licensure programs, both options provide the candidate with a post-baccalaureate certificate in secondary education and the candidate is eligible for an Alaska initial teaching license.
