  • Master of Science (Mining Engineering) from Virginia Tech (1995)
  • Doctor of Philosophy from University of Kentucky (1999).

Industrial Experience

  • Hindustan Copper Limited, India, at Malajkhand Copper Project (a hard rock surface mine) from 1991 to 1993
  • Jim Walter Resources's #7 Mine (underground coal) in Brookwood, AL, for a year from 2005 to 2006. 
  • Summer internships at Arch of Kentucky (1997), Hindustan Zinc Limited & Singareni Collieries Company Ltd

    • Production simulation, process control (such as SAG mill), application of artificial Intelligence, 3D Mine Design, expert systems
    • Ore reserve estimation using geostatistics or neural network
