Home - Who Am I?

In 1997 I graduated from high school and moved to Fairbanks, Alaska to go to the University of Alaska.  I've never looked back.  The adventures, opportunities and amazing people in the last frontier have given me a wonderful life.  As an educator in a village along the Yukon River, I am "living the dream".  Galena is home to about 500 people and the Galena City School District (GCSD)has three schools - Sidney Huntington School (SHS), Galena Interior Learning Academy (GILA) and Interior Distance Education of Alaska (IDEA).  With about 80 local students K-12, 235 high school boarding students and 4000 correspondence home school students, GCSD is truly representative of the students of Alaska.  I get to work with the SHS and GILA population each day in my classroom.
