I am a computational and experimental physicist with broad interests in diverse topics including space plasma physics, high performance computing techniques, and information science.

My research focus is the high latitude F-region ionosphere and its effects on radio propagation; my methods generally involve combinations of physics-based computer models, high-power HF radio modification experiments, and radar measurements.  I have participated in experiment campaigns at the High-frequency Active Auroral Research Program (HAARP) facility in Alaska by designing experiments and operating the Modular UHF Ionosphere Radar (MUIR).  My recent efforts in applied research use graphics processing units (GPUs) to accelerate processing of high-resolution pulse-compressed radar data from the MUIR and Poker Flat Incoherent Scatter Radar (PFISR) systems.

I am an assistant research professor in the Space Physics & Aeronomy group at the University of Alaska Fairbanks Geophysical Institute.
