How AIT degree helped you in achieving your career potential/goals?

As a holder of a Master of Science degree in Natural Resources Development and Management from the AIT, I was able to occupy one of the key positions in the DENR with my appointment as the head of one of its attached agencies, NAMRIA.  Being a graduate of an exemplary academic institution like the AIT, I am fully capable of managing a highly-technical office along with the challenges such as dealing with multinational stakeholders whether from the private, government, or academic sector.

• Head of Delegation, Defense of the Philippine Claim for Extended Continental Shelf in the Benham Rise Region before the United Nations Subcomission on the Limits of the Continental Shelf, Division on Ocean and Law of the Sea, United Nations, New York, U.S.A. from 26 August 2011 to 09 December 2011.

• Member, Philippine Negotiating Panel on Maritime/Exclusive Economic Zone Boundary between the Republic of the Philippines and the Republic of Indonesia, from 2010 to Present.

• Chairman, United Nations Group of Experts on Geographical Names – Asia South East Division (UNGEGN-ASE), from April 2014 to March 2018.

• 2011 Outstanding Alumnus Award for Government Service, as given by the University of the Philippines at Los Baños, College of Forestry and Natural Resources Alumni Association, 101st Foundation Day, UPLB, 27 April 2011.

• Most Outstanding Alumnus, University of La Salette High School, as given by the ULS President,            ULS Auditorium, Santiago City, Isabela, Philippines, 30 December 2011.

• 2011 Outstanding Professional of the Year in the Field of Forestry, as conferred by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) of the Republic of the Philippines, PRC Awards night, Manila Hotel,              22 June 2011.
