In a letter to Benoît Kremer, President of AIIC, on 19.06.2011, Dr. Verena Krausneker, from the Department of Linguistics, Faculty of Humanities, University of Vienna, writes a summary of the most important reseach results and the academic status quo on the family of signed languages that includes:
