  • Dreaming as MLK did Our second graders got the chance to learn about Martin Luther King, Jr. and his impact on people then and now. Students then recorded their own dreams of how they can help those around them--their family members, classmates, other AES students and staff, and the whole community. MLK inspires us to dream big and set out to make them come true.

  • AES student in Nene Award Contest final! Today four of our 5th graders participated in a contest against two other Hawaii schools, answering questions based on the 2015 Nene Award winner, Wonder by RJ Palacio. Out of the 20 students that participated in today's round, one of AES students came in 3rd place, moving her on to compete in the finals tomorrow! Questions were about the novel's characters, plot, themes, and events. Visit the Nene Award site for the full video of today's contest and more information about the Nene Award!
