  • Principal's Blog - Friday 22nd May Thank you to the parents who came along to the Year 10 parent consultation event on Wednesday evening, we had very positive feedback and there were lots of focussed conversations about how students can improve in their subjects as they approach Year 11. We shared the proposed schedule of Parent Consultation events, tracking and reports for next year with our Parent Forum Group this week. They gave us their input as to when they feel each event is best placed in the academic year. As soon as this has been finalised we will share will all parents. Congratulations to all students who were involved in the Dance Show last night, it was a spectacular showcase of all the hard work ...

  • Principal's Blog - Friday 15th May Exam season is well under way and I have been impressed with the behaviour and attitudes of students taking their exams this week. We hope to see lots of Year 10 parents at the consultation event on Wednesday 20th May so we can work with parents and students to ensure they are as prepared as possible when they enter Year 11. There is a letter on our website detailing the arrangements for this day (click here); students in Years 7-10 will finish school at 1pm.   • Principal's Blog - Friday 8th May I had a wonderful evening on Wednesday celebrating the Class of 2015 at the Year 11 Presentation Evening. Teachers, House Leaders and the Senior Leadership team celebrated the fantastic achievements of so many of our students. Thank you to Kim Buckland MBE who was an inspirational guest speaker on the evening. SBA’s first Literary Festival this week was a great success. It was lovely to see students experiencing the work of a diverse range of authors; developing their interest in literature and writing throughout the week.  ‘Adisa’ a performance poet visited the academy on Tuesday and gave an engaging talk to Year 9 students; he also delivered a poetry workshop with Year 10 students.
