We hold a daily breakfast club courtesy of Mrs Jones, Mr Marples and Miss Vincent. As a result we are able to offer free breakfasts to pupils and their families. The breakfast club is open from 08:15 until 08:45 each school day. Please note that the emphasis in this club is on ensuring that everyone receives a nutritional breakfast, it is not a club that is offering childcare. Children from FS2 to Class Cambridge can attend the club.
We have a wide variety of academy clubs which run at the end of the academy day as well as providing the opportunity for pupils to learn to play a variety of instruments in small group lessons. Clubs include several different sports, computing, gardening, the academy choir and boosters. Please note that we may advise that your child attends a catch-up club (known as homework club) and, if this is the case, they will not be able to access any other academy clubs unless they attend this on a weekly basis. The timetable for each term will be sent home in the first week of term and updated below.
Friends and family of Meadstead
We have a thriving parents/supports group who meet Thursday morning (generally once a month, but can be more frequent nearer major events) in the academy. They raise funds for the academy by putting on a number of events such as discos and film nights, as well as providing refreshments at academy events. We always welcome new members, if you are interested in joining this group them please contact Mrs Dalby or Mrs Guest who will advise you accordingly.
SEND Parents Forum
From September 2017, we are looking to develop a forum to help improve our SEND provision throughout the Academy (inc. CIRP) and are looking for parents/carers that would be willing to input into this group. There will be 6 meetings a year (one every learning block), with Miss Addy hosting. If you would like to be part of this group then please contact Miss Addy or Mrs Dalby for more information.
