Battle for the Horizon

July 21st we had our 1st Annual "Battle for the Horizon" Outdoor Grass Volleyball Tournament Fundraiser and it was AWESOME! I couldn't have done it without the many volunteers, mama crews, papa crews, players crews, our fabulous athletic director and all of the participants that help our program out this season. We had 12 courts and 68 players... what a GREAT first year!!

Pre - Tryout Camp

All Skills, All Levels Pre-Tryout Prep-Camp

Dates: August 6th-August 9th
Time: 9:00am-2:00pm (double sessions) at Horizon High School 
What you need: Make sure to have physical done and authorization form filled out prior to that day. (you can call the school and contact our athletic secretary for more specific info.) NO ONE can participate without this form. (See attachment below) Sign up is the morning of August 9th starting at 8:00am-8:45am. Camp starts at 9:00am on the dot.
COST: $100.00 for all four days(18 hrs @ approx. $5.50/hr)

SIGN UP: Takes place the morning before the 1st day of your camp(s) so PLEASE make sure you plan ahead.

WHAT TO WEAR: Gym/volleyball shoes (if they mark the floor, you can not wear them.) Athletic t-shirt (must have sleeves and if you are a returner of any age, please wear Horizon gear), gym shorts, (preferably spandex), and if you have ankle guards and KNEE PADS, please wear them. 
WHAT TO BRING: Bring your own water bottle, and a healthy snack to keep by your water. Example: Sliced apples, watermelon, power bars, etc. You will always take a bite every water break. If you are in a double session, also prepare for lunch. It is only 30-45 minutes so plan on staying on site.

Side note about shoes in case you are thinking of buying new shoes for these camps: If you do end up playing for Horizon Volleyball next season, we will offer a player pack option. With this option comes buying shoes through the program that will match the majority of the program. If you want options about shoes beforehand, please e-mail me back and I will forward you info. (Basically black shoes, preferably Asics or Mizuno)

When: August 13th-August 16th
August 13th 10:00am-3:00pm (Double session)
August 14th 10:00am-3:00pm (Double session)
August 15th 10:00am-1:00pm (Single session)
August 16th 10:00am-1:00pm (Single session)

FIRST PRACTICE will be on Friday August 17th from 10:00am-1:00pm. Practice times will be at 3:30-6:30pm starting Monday August 20th for all levels.

VARSITY Please clear these dates! You will be participating in an all day team building event on SATURDAY August 18th from 8:30am-4:30pm. Location TBD 
VARSITY will also be participating in a scrimmage at the RMAC on SATURDAY August 25th. (details TBA)
will again be participating in the Cherry Creek Tournament on SATURDAY September 15th, as well as a new tournament at the end of our regular season on SATURDAY October 27th at Palmer Ridge High School.

Summer Workout Program

Please ALSO sign up for the Summer Workout Program!! Registration forms were passed out and training has begun BUT this goes through August and attendance is not mandatory so registering late is TOTALLY acceptable. 
Please feel free to forward to any incoming freshman as well- thanks! 

WHEN: Every Tuesday & Thursday starting June 12th 
DATES: June 12th – August 2nd 
TIME: 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. (soon to go to 9:30am)
WHERE: Horizon High School (Meet in gym outside of weight room)
COST: $50 (Mail or bring the first day of training)

You may register anytime during the program, but may not participate without registration being turned in.

We are dedicated to utilizing innovative speed, agility, and quickness (SAQ) training techniques as well as in-depth strength training instruction, including Olympic weightlifting exercises to improve performance. The program developed is designed to provide each individual with the knowledge necessary to maximize her physiological potential.

Girls, this is SUPER cheap and SUPER worth it. We are also going to be instilling an additional volleyball specific dynamic and explosive series at the end of this workout, totaling about a 1hr 30 minute workout.
