Hundreds of students from across Activate Learning found out more about higher education options at two HE Fairs this week.

The events, which included representatives from more than 50 universities, took place at Reading College on Wednesday and City of Oxford College on Thursday.

Organised by the Activate Careers team, the events were aimed at Level 3 learners to help them make informed choices about their next steps after college.

They were also open to pupils from local secondary schools, with coach loads arriving at the colleges across the two days.

Universities from across the UK were kept busy during the two days, with more than 1,500 people attending.

The event also attracted a high level of interest in higher education options at Activate Learning colleges and featured talks about the process of applying to university and writing a great personal statement.

Miriam Braham, Group Director of Marketing and Customer Experience at Activate Learning, said: “We want to give our students the very best opportunities to successfully progress into higher education and employment.

“Our Higher Education Fairs gave students the chance to find out more about specific pathways as well as the student experience at universities across the UK. We hope that this will help to raise aspirations and enable them to make informed decisions about their next steps, with the further support of our Activate Careers and teaching teams.”

The Activate Careers team are available to support students applying to university via UCAS, including help with personal statements. Teams will be visiting classes and are also available for drop-in one-to-one sessions. Ask to speak to a member of the team at Advice and Admissions, near reception.
