By now, I am certain that you have heard that our very own Derik Thompson was named by the Louisiana Association of Computer Using Educators as the Teacher/Leader of the Year for Region Two and the entire state of Louisiana. We are so proud of Derik and are so blessed that he shares his talents with ACS!

It certainly feels like Christmas! To celebrate the cold weather, the children are allowed to wear Christmas pajamas to school tomorrow. Friday is a Holy Day, the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. Students should wear full dress uniform because we will attend Mass at 8:00.

Tomorrow is also Domino’s Pizza Day. Mention ACS when you place your order and ACS will receive 20% of your purchase. November’s winner of a free Pizza Party.
Tuesday is the ACS Christmas Program. There will be two performances-1:30 and 6:00 PM. Invite everyone in your family to come and bring a friend to enjoy sharing the spirit of the season with the students. This is always such a treat for everyone involved and all our guests. Be sure to be here! Father Bru will receive his gift of money that the children have collected. Thank you for your generosity. There will be NO Aftercare on the day of the Program.

It hardly seems possible that the semester will end next week and half the school year will be behind us! Students will be dismissed on Friday, December 15th at 12 noon to begin their Christmas holiday. Classes will resume on Wednesday, January 3rd.

When we return in January, we will participate in the “Warm Hands, Warm Hearts Project.” This has become an annual tradition at ACS. Students are asked to donate something new or gently used to help someone less fortunate stay warm this winter. Items include sweaters, coats, jackets, gloves, mittens, scarves, hats, caps, socks, blankets, etc. It can be any size. This is the perfect time to look through your closets and discard items you no longer use or purchase something new during the after Christmas sales. All donations are appreciated.

Parent conferences will be conducted on Friday, January 12th. Report cards will be given at this time. Your appointment letter is being sent home today. Ms. Pat needs it signed and returned by Tuesday, December 12th. If you cannot attend at the time assigned, please contact your child’s teacher.
