Where has November gone? It does not seem like we should already be going into December and the end of first semester! We are sending your December calendar so that you can keep up with all the up-coming Christmas activities at ACS.

This weekend, the Knights of Columbus are sponsoring a Christmas food drive to benefit the Bogalusa Help Center. They have asked for our help. Please send non-perishable food items to school by Friday or bring them to Mass with you this weekend. Also, the gifts for the less fortunate are due at ACS by Friday. Thanks for your generosity in sharing with those who need help during the holidays. God will bless your giving heart.

Santa and Bert Burr will be at ACS 8:00 Monday morning for Christmas portraits. You are invited to bring the whole family and have a beautiful picture made with or without Santa. Pictures will be ready before the holiday break. Feel free to change your child’s “picture clothes” after the picture is made. Students who have pictures taken are allowed to wear any Christmas clothes that day for school.

Parents of second graders making their First Communion in May have a meeting Monday with Mr. Valenti in his classroom at 6:00 PM. All Kindergarten parents have a meeting on Monday at 5:30 to discuss the Mother Goose Parade that takes place on January 31st and the Children’s Coronation which is scheduled for Saturday, May 5th. Both of these meetings are extremely important.

The blood mobile will be at ACS on Tuesday from 2:00-6:00 PM. The holidays are always a time of critical shortage. Please sign up to roll up your sleeve and give the gift of life. Even if you are not pre-registered, come and donate at your convenience. Students of donors will receive a special t-shirt. Ask family, neighbors, and co-workers to participate. Our goal is 20 units.

Students can begin wearing any ACS Christmas t-shirt with uniform bottoms. We will go to Mass next week on Friday, December 8th. That will be a dress uniform day. Speaking of dress uniforms, please see that skirts are not too short, boys’ hair is not too long, and that socks come 2 inches above the top of the shoes. The teachers and I have noticed that these uniform items are getting lax. I hate to give write-ups and after school detentions so close to Christmas. Thanks for your cooperation.

Christmas holidays begin at 12 noon on Friday, December 15th and run through Tuesday, January 2nd. Classes will resume on Wednesday, January 3rd.
