Happy New Year! I hope that 2018 is a year filled with God’s blessing of good health, happiness, and prosperity for your family.

In spite of the cold temperature, the students seem glad to be back at school with their friends. Thursday and Friday are Free Winter Dress days. We are staying inside and trying to stay warm. I hope that you have not had broken pipes. So far, the broken ones at ACS have been outside.

Tomorrow is Domino’s Pizza Day. Remind your family and friends to mention ACS when placing their order and the school will receive a donation from Domino’s. Speaking of pizza, on Monday, January 22nd, we will begin our Little Caesar Pizza Kit Fundraiser. You will receive forms and information on that day.

Remember Parent Conferences are scheduled for next Friday, January 12th. If you have a scheduling problem, please notify your child’ teacher. Report cards will be distributed at that meeting.

ACS is closed on Monday, January 15th in observance of Martin Luther King holiday.

On Tuesday, January 16th, ACS will conduct Open House for NEW or PROSPECTIVE Families. PreK and Kindergarten parents are invited for 5:30, and parents for grades one through seven are invited for 6:00pm. Please pass this information along to family and friends who are considering placement for their children next year. ACS provides a solid education and moral foundation for its students. Children who attend Annunciation have a reputation of high standards and are welcomed into the high schools of their choice. We also have the lowest tuition for any Catholic school in the Archdiocese of New Orleans.

Here are some important dates to put on your calendar: Krewe of Mother Goose and Make Believe will have its parade in Goodyear Park at 1:30 on Wednesday, January 31st. March 10th is the Spring Auction. This year’s theme is “Under the Big Top”. Everyone loves the circus, and this year’s Auction promises to be a fun filled evening of entertainment. Room Mothers will contact you soon so that you can help with the class basket/project that will used for an Auction item. March 24th is the ACS Golf Tournament in memory of Kathy Arlt and William Nielsen. Notify your golfing buddies so that you can participate in the two person scramble. The Children’s Coronation will be held on Saturday, May 5th. All Kindergarten age children are encouraged to participate. Please pass this date on to your friends who have kindergarten students in other schools or out of town.

Well, 2018 is shaping up to be another eventful year of activities and learning at ACS. I am so glad your family has chosen to be a part of it.
