I am very sad to announce that one of Annunciation’s most loyal supporters passed away yesterday. Ms. Irma Lee Calender brought joy to the staff and students of ACS on a regular basis.  Her trips to Dirt Cheap brought bags of school supplies and Treasure Chest Treats for years. Her smile and frequent visits brightened our days. Irma Lee’s funeral Mass will be attended on Friday by the Middle School students and everyone will stand in Goodyear Park to honor her funeral procession from the church.  We will display her sign that currently hangs in the school cafeteria.

What a hectic week—ACT Aspire Achievement Tests and Children’s Coronation.  Thanks to the students and staff for handling the stress. Students in grades 5 and 6 who are required to take the Louisiana LEAP tests will take those tomorrow and Friday of this week and Monday and Tuesday of next week.

The 82nd Children’s Coronation is Saturday night at 6:00 P.M. in the BHS Auditorium. Tickets are on sale in the school office for $5.00.  They will be $6.00 on Saturday. Avoid standing in line and save some money by purchasing tickets ahead of time. Practice is Thursday at 4:30 P.M. Participants need to be in the band room on Saturday no later than 5:45. Runway and back drop need to be taken down and stored on Sunday.  We will meet at 1:30 in the Auditorium. Bring an electric screwdriver. THANKS to the men who worked setting everything up this past Sunday.

Ms. Kandi reminds everyone that beginning May 1st she cannot take checks for lunch fees.  If your child is not returning to ACS next school year, there is a form to fill out to receive your refund.  See Kandi for this form or further information.

The Knights of Columbus are having their second Lenten Fish Fry this Friday at the KC pavilion across from the school.  Last month’s fish was DELICIOUS! We have $10 tickets on sale in the school office. Proceeds benefit the school. Please support them as they support us.
