I am prouder than a peacock. Elementary Beta attended State Convention in Lafayette this week.

Our own Ian Meyers won first place in Elementary Math and Science for the entire state of Louisiana! This is a tremendous accomplishment. Congratulations to Ian, his parents, and his teachers.

Happy National Catholic School Week! Happy Mardi Gras! Happy Mother Goose Parade!!  What a great ACS tradition, and what a crazy amount of fun for us at school today. Tomorrow is Buddy Breakfast.  Send breakfast food for YOUR child to eat with another friend.

Remind everyone who is interested in this year’s Children’s Coronation to be in the school cafeteria tomorrow at 5:30 PM. Coronation Roles will be assigned, sketches will be given out, and the theme will be announced.  At the time of this letter being written, I have no idea who the Coronation Royalty will be, but they will be chosen by the Queen and King of MCCA at the conclusion of today’s parade. Check on Facebook. I am sure there will be lots of pictures. Children’s Coronation, Bogalusa’s oldest tradition, is scheduled in the Bogalusa High School Auditorium on Saturday, April 13th at 6:00PM.  All Kindergarten age children are encouraged to participate. Many children travel in from faraway places to participate. Spread the word.  It is not too late to register.

Because of our “snow day”, the 100th Day of School is now on Friday. I apologize for any inconvenience that closing school yesterday may have caused you.  The new protocol that I MUST follow is that when I receive a call from Homeland Security notifying me of impending danger, I MUST close school along with the Bogalusa City School System and the Washington Parish School System. I received that call at 2:46 PM on Tuesday afternoon. We build emergency days into the school calendar and extra minutes into each day.  So, we are covered on state requirements for attendance. Hopefully, there will be no more emergency situations this school year.

Important Tax Information from Mrs. Pat:  The FACTS Tuition Management System has tools to help parents with tax information.  Parents may log in and see the summary or detail for totals paid on the balances tracked in FACTS, including After Care. The payment summary or transaction detail will include the school’s address and tax ID. Please take advantage of this service.

Send non-perishable food items on Friday for the Bogalusa School Bank.  Beta is participating the the “Souper” Bowl.” All food collected stays in Bogalusa.  And yes, we have a basket labeled Saints! Friday is also out second Free Dress/Scratch Off Friday.  Wear your Black and Gold one more time to celebrate a great Saints season and to remember the “Souper Bowl” Food Drive.
