Healthy Food

posted Dec 12, 2019, 8:23 AM by Olga Soliman

Dear parents, we noticed that more and more students come to school with very unhealthy food choices: chocolate items (cornflakes, cookies, candies, molto etc), other sugary items (cookies etc), chocolate flavored milk, juice with added sugar, Nutella sandwiches but no vegetables, fruits or regular sandwiches.

This type of diet promotes hyperactivity and inability to focus and concentrate, which affects students’ performance. Children are loaded with sugar that has a very negative effect on them. They require proper nutrition to stay healthy and be able to acquire new information at school. Therefore we request for parents to send their children to school with proper breakfast and lunch options: eggs in different forms, yogurt, sandwiches (cheese, luncheon, tuna etc), chicken, fruits, and vegetables. Jam and Nutella sandwiches are fine for desert but should not be main source of nutrition.

Please be informed that teachers will confiscate all chocolate items as well as other sweets before breakfast. They will be returned all together at the end of the week. Thank you for your understanding. KG Administration
