Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday
Morning and Afternoon Routines: Students are expected to write homework into their agenda books each morning and to pack up what they need to complete homework each afternoon. Please review your child's agenda book and initial it each night. In an attempt at helping children become more independent, I will gradually cutback on the amount of support I give as the year progresses. You may notice an occasional assignment left at school. Don't worry. Students have three "oops!" each term before their homework mark is lowered.
Reading Log: Students will be given a Reading Log each Monday. They will be asked to read for twenty minutes each night (Monday-Thursday). Students will have a parent sign the reading log and submit it to me each Friday.
Math: Students will be asked to complete the odd problems on one page of math homework each night (Monday-Thursday). The problems are meant to reinforce concepts taught in school. In addition, students will be asked to practice math facts (multiplication and division) at home each night. Students will be assessed periodically and should attempt to master a minimum of 30 facts per minute by the end of fourth grade.
Tests: Students will be asked to review notes for periodic tests in science and social studies.
Friday Cards: The sheet of yellow paper is known as our "Friday Card" and will let you know if your child has any missing or late assignments for the week. Please initial the Friday Card each Friday (whether there are any missing/late assignments or not) and return it to me each Monday.
